Slow Hikers Make Great Landsnorkelers!

I am a slow hiker, now I know why. I am a land snorkeler. I have to stop and look at everything. While I was coming down a trail in McCall, Idaho last week, and of course trailing behind, and talking away. I had the pleasure of getting to know a grasshopper a little to personally. He flew into my mouth and tried to make it down my throat. I thought I was a goner. I hacked, and sputtered, and finally got him out, no worse for wear, he flew off. I only got a sore throat from his spiney legs struggling to get out. My friends thought this was hysterical. I have learned to keep my mouth shut when outdoors. Should keep it shut at all times.- Karen Swanson
